Sihanoukville – Our Location

Vagabond Temple is right in the middle of a peaceful and beautiful village in Sihanoukville, only 5 minute from Independence Beach!

Sihanoukville is Cambodia’s main beach destination located on the beautiful Southern coast. Although a tourist destination, Sihanoukville has managed to retain its laidback atmosphere situated on pearly white, sand beaches and fairly undeveloped tropical islands.

Vagabond Temple is tucked away in a quiet corner of Sihanoukville, only a five minutes’ walk to Independence beach, a peaceful and quiet oasis. Our Spiritual Home is situated out from the city centre to foster the spiritual process, but is only a ten minute tuk-tuk ride away from the city. If you head out of our bright blue gates, you can stroll around and enjoy the beautiful green surroundings filled with smiling children, kind people, fields of cows, and a few local shops as well as fruit stalls.

Sights & Activities

Beaches

Sinahoukville’s main attraction is the great selection of beaches where you will find stretches of white sand shaded by coconut trees. Below a selection of our favourite beaches.

Independence beach: Only a stone’s throw away from the retreat centre, offering a tranquil atmosphere

Sokha beach: Among Sinahoukville’s prettiest beaches, fairly quiet with fine pearl white sand.

Ochheuteal and Serendipity beach: The most popular beaches of Sihanoukville where you will find plenty of leisure and dining options.

Otres beach: Less crowded than the Serendipity beaches, offering a more relaxed and laidback atmosphere.

Island hopping

Visit one of Cambodia’s numerous small islands located in the turquoise-blue waters of the Gulf of Thailand. Some of our favourites include Koh Rong, Koh Rong Sanioem, Koh Ta Kiev and Koh Russel or ‘Bamboo Island’ they are only a boat ride away.

Ream National Park

21,000 hectares of primary forest, coastal mangroves, long stretches of unspoilt beach and home to several endangered birds make it a great place for a day of hiking, jungle trekking or going on a river boat trip.

Kbal Chhay waterfalls

Enjoy the green surroundings and serene ambience around the picturesque 14 metres high Kbal Chhay waterfalls, it is also a popular picnic spot.
